Sea-lovers talked about the sea
Turkey's most prestigious organization, the CNR Eurasia Boat Show, presented 3,500 of the best watercraft of the maritime industry to the liking of tens of thousands of local and foreign visitors on February 23. During the Maritime Talks in the show where the best yachts were displayed for the first time, the seafarers got together with those who have devoted their hearts to the sea.
Did not set foot on land for 25 days

Between 1998 and 2004, Hülya Leigh sailed the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and the rivers and canals on the eastern shores of the USA and crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice.
Hülya Leigh's unique experience of her 25 days she had lived on the ocean without setting foot on land was published in 2005 by Naviga Publishing as a book titled, A Turkish Girl Sailing on the Ocean. Apart from interviews, Leigh has written numerous articles published in Naviga Magazine and has translated four nautical books from English to Turkish.
Has the richest marine archive

Mert Gökalp, who currently works as an author & photographer for the Magma Magazine, has the richest underwater photography and video stock archive of the Eastern Mediterranean region in Turkey.
Since 2006, Gökalp has been working as a freelance photographer and video maker developing projects with various agencies around the world and with NGOs such as WWF, Slowfood, Greenpeace and UNDP. Gökalp who has four solo photo exhibitions has also worked in the documentaries screened on the Dutch VPRO TV and NT channels and İz TV and Yaban TV in Turkey.
Spending half the year at sea

Tunç & Julie Aytunç who were among the most intriguing speakers of the CNR Eurasia Boat Show got married in 1997 in the United States. Their passion for the sea started in the 2000s when they were organizing gulet tours to the Greek Islands for the French tourists. They spend half of the year at sea. The couple who has many published maritime articles in newspapers, magazines, and websites are also PADI diving instructorş. They have traveled nearly to seventy countries with their sailing yacht they named TAJ in 2011.

Murat Tuğsuz, who makes all the music of Coşkun Aral's unforgettable documentary Haberci and İZ TV running on Digitürk, is a professional musician who also makes the music of many productions created by TRT and Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The musician who is an expert digital music producer plays 16 different instruments impeccably. Seventy-five albums carry his signature, and about 1,500 music composed by him have been used on various television productions both in Turkey and around the globe.
Dazzling with his outstanding achievements, Cumhur Gökova will be in the Maritime Talks
He first traveled all the European countries then he set out from Switzerland, where he lived, and crossed the Great Sahara Desert with his off-road vehicle. At the age of 21, he set out from England with a sailboat. He traveled to Germany, Denmark, Poland, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, all the Norwegian Fjords, and all the way up to Spitsbergen in the North Pole. From there he traveled down to Portugal and crossed the Atlantic Ocean completing his world tour by the age of 27.
At the age of 27, he became a sailing instructor as well as a pilot. He brought the first international sailing school to Turkey. In 2005, he joined the Transatlantic Race with six Turkish women whom he had trained. He and his team came in second place in the world. The Olympic Committee of Turkey awarded him. He has so far trained 17 thousand captains. He was named the Athlete of the Year in 2016 and brought a World Championship to Turkey from America in 2018.
Savaş Karakaş continues deep-sea explorations at CNR Eurasia Boat Show
Savaş Karakas, the most prominent documentary filmmaker of Turkey, made his first and most extensive underwater documentary series 'Gallipoli: History in the Depths' about the Battle of Gallipoli in 1998 and dedicated it to his grandfather, a veteran of the Turkish army in WW1. 'Dumlupınar' documentary followed in 2004 and 'Mustafa Ertuğrul: the Hero in the Depths' in 2008. The Journalists Association of Turkey praised both documentaries.
He won awards in the TRT Documentary Competition with 'Mustafa Ertuğrul' in 2008 and 'Saving Flipper' in 2010. In 2010, he received the Best Historical Documentary award at the World Underwater Film Festival in Marseille with 'Hitler's Lost U-Boat: U-20'. He put his signature on two more international documentary projects; 'Echoes from the Deep' to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli, and 'The Last Warrior: Midilli (ex-Breslau)' to mark the centenary of the ending of the First World War and the sinking of the Midilli cruiser in the Aegean. He produced over 130 episodes of 'Sudaki İzler' (Traces on Water), Turkey's cult underwater documentary series.
Cumhur Gökova and Savaş Karakaş who are among the best in Turkey in their respective fields spoke at CNR Eurasia Boat Show Martine Talks to take place in CNR Expo from February 23 to March 3.
