Those devoted to the sea will speak at Sea Talks!


Showcasing more than 3500 sea vehicles from megayachts to boats, sailing boats, and air rafts for the first time, CNR Eurasia Boat Show will draw the attention of the exhibitors with the Sea Talks event. The world-renowned names including Edhem Dirvana, Sir Chay Blyth, Tahsin Ceylan, Ayşe Aslı Başak, Hülya Güler, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy and Behzat Şahin will share their passions and journeys about the sea with sea lovers at the event. 
 
 
Organized by CNR Holding subsidiary, Pozitif Trade Fairs, with the cooperation of DENTUR (Turkish Marine Industry Association) and the support of KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization), 15th International Boat Marine Equipment and Accessories Show – CNR Eurasia Boat Show will open its doors to visitors who want to commune with the sea at CNR Expo Istanbul Expo Center between February 22-March 01, 2020. Anticipated greatly by the whole world, the exhibition will draw the attention of exhibitors with the Sea Talks event. Elaborating on the marine, Sea Talks will welcome world-renowned names including Edhem Dirvana, Sir Chay Blyth, Tahsin Ceylan, Ayşe Aslı Başak, Hülya Güler, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy and Behzat Şahin, who will deliver delightful presentations in their fields.
 
 
Waving the Turkish flag at Grand Prix
 
Edhem Dirvana, a sailor and an international relations specialist and the son of one of the greatest Turkish sailors Prof. Dr. Süleyman Dirvana, will inform the audience on the projects he developed to fulfill the marine potential in Turkey, at the event. One of the most intriguing names at Sea Talks, Edhem Dirvana is world-renowned for waving the Turkish flag at international Grand Prix races with the first extreme sailing boat team in Turkey that was formed in 2014. During his speech, Edhem Dirvana will give interesting tips for participants who have developed an interest in sailing. 
 
 
Rowing against the winds and currents for 292 days
 
Another guest of the Sea Talks event is Chay Blyth, who rowed across the North Atlantic with John Ridgeway in a 6 meters open Dory against the hurricane for 92 days in 1966. A CBE with BEM, the world-renowned yachtsman and rower, Sir Chay Blyth, made history being the first person to sail non-stop westwards around the world against the prevailing winds and currents for 292 days. Sir Chay Blyth will share his experiences of sea voyages at the event. 
 
 
Powerful Women of the World Seas
 
Working in container and bulk carriers, long-distance masters, Ayşe Aslı Başak and the Founding Partner of SheFarers Platform, Hülya Güler, as well as TÜBİTAK MAM (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey – Marmara Research Center) Manager of the Institute of Arctic Research Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy, who has performed the first science journey to Antarctica, are among the speakers of the Sea Talks event at CNR Eurasia Boat Show. Those three sea enthusiasts will make a presentation named “Powerful Women of the World Seas” at the event where the owner of Cibalikapı Balıkçısı, Behzat Şahin, who started to live in a boat with his family after quitting journalism, will also give a speech.  
 
 
“Secrets of Lake Van” documentary will be introduced  
 
Another intriguing name among the Sea Talks speakers is Tahsin Ceylan. Having taken the first photographs of Mediterranean monk seals, seahorses, and sharks in our country seas, Tahsin Ceylan holds more than 100 domestic and international awards in photography and video. The speaker of Sea Talks, Tahsin Ceylan, will also present the documentary “Secrets of Lake Van, with its ecology and traces of underwater civilizations” for the first time at the exhibition.
